Who we are

This website, cognitivedelivery.co.uk, is operated by Drawbridges Business Services Limited, trading as Cognitive Delivery. The company is the data controller for personal data processed through this site.

Drawbridges Business Services Limited is registered in England & Wales (company number 15260510), registered office 17 Ivy Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR10 3PX, and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZB654479. For anything related to this notice or your personal data, contact jason@cognitivedelivery.co.uk. Full company details are at /legal/.

The short version

The site runs no advertising and profiles no one. Fonts and page assets are served from our own domain. The only tracking is optional Google Analytics, which loads nothing and sets no cookie unless you accept it on the banner. Decline or ignore the banner and the site behaves as if analytics did not exist. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie choices link in the footer.

Cookies

Consent record. When you accept or decline analytics, we store your choice in a first-party cookie named cc_consent for a year, so we do not ask again. This is strictly necessary to honour your choice and is set regardless of it.

Google Analytics cookies. Only if you accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to measure site usage. These are not set before you accept, and are cleared on a best-effort basis if you later withdraw. No other cookies are used.

Full detail on each cookie, its purpose and lifetime, and how to change your choice is in the cookie policy at /cookies/.

Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, where visitors arrive from, broad location and device. Lawful basis: consent, freely given through the banner and withdrawable at any time.

Consent is opt-in. Before you accept, Google Consent Mode is set to deny all storage, and no Google script loads at all. Accepting grants analytics storage only; advertising storage, ad personalisation and ad-user-data remain denied, and we run no advertising.

Google acts as our data processor for analytics and, for its own product purposes, as an independent controller under its own terms; see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and business.safety.google/adscontrollerterms. Analytics data may be processed on Google infrastructure outside the UK under appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses). GA4 retains user-level data for Google's configured period; we use only aggregate reports.

To withdraw or change consent, use the Cookie choices link in the footer, or use any content or tracker blocker. The site works fully either way. The interactive CDI self-assessment is unaffected by all of this: it runs entirely in your browser and its scores are never sent to us or to Google.

What else we process, and why

Email. If you email jason@cognitivedelivery.co.uk, we receive your address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to reply and keep correspondence for as long as it stays relevant. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (responding to people who contact us).

Hosting logs. The site is served by Google Firebase Hosting, whose infrastructure processes technical request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver pages and defend against abuse, retained per Google's standard short-lived logging. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (running a secure website).

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our email newsletter, we process your email address on the basis of your consent, given by an unticked checkbox at signup. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We keep a record of when and how you consented.

Newsletter delivery uses a specialist email provider acting as our processor; this notice will be updated to name the provider before the newsletter launches. Your address is sent directly from your browser to that provider when you submit the form, and is used for nothing except sending the newsletter.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, object to or restrict our processing, withdraw consent, and ask for your data in a portable form. Email jason@cognitivedelivery.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

Any material change to what this site processes will be reflected here before it takes effect, with the date above updated.
